Morris County Parks

Greystone Woods Disc Golf Club introduced the first disc golf course to Morris County NJ!

Special thanks to Tom, Jeff, Eric, Jbyrd, Mike Yee, Bob, Ming, and Arleen for the great help on the 8/30 work day, ALL you guys and gals ROCK!

Greystone Woods was developed within a surprisingly beautiful piece of property in Central Park of Morris County NJ. The land showcases two large ponds, meadows, flowing streams, wildlife, respectable elevation changes, and old growth woodlands. The course offers a choice of multiple tees sets providing variety and challenge for an assortment of player skill levels.

Whether the player desires the most demanding layout offered with the blue tees, the mixture of shot shapes of the white or the beginner friendly red tees; there is something for everyone. During the design process strong consideration was given to ensure the use of the great features of the park, a progressive approach to risk/reward shot selection and most of all a highly exciting FUN factor. The combination of elements to be discovered within Greystone Woods lends itself to truly great disc golf experience.

Located in Central Park, Morris Plains, NJ. This 18 hole course has two tees and one basket per hole( some are combined). The blue tees (longs) are par 64 with a total distance of 7758 feet while the white tees (shorts) are par 58 that come in at 5436 feet. Course designers Jeff Mahler and Eric Robbins were careful to make sure the layout did not favor either left hand or right hand players, its pretty much an even split across the 18 holes. Signature hole 9 blue ( par 4, website background picture) stretches 432 feet across the lower lake for a excellent risk\reward opportunity where you can throw it safely 150 feet off the tee and stay dry, or go for the big 280 ft bomb to clear the lake and go for the birdie. Go for it. The course has four uphill and seven downhill shots off the tees and the remaining are pretty flat even though the course is build at the base of Mountain Way Park. Construction started in the fall of 2012 and was completed for the opening day event on August 10th 2014 although course improvements are an ongoing effort. This course was built entirely by volunteers. The Mighty 3 (Jeff, Eric, and Jbyrd) started the initial ground breaking, fairway cutting, and brush removal. As we came closer to completion many more volunteers stepped in to help. We had a lot of great work days with a lot of great people to make installing this course happen.

Join Us!! We are moving forward on building the Greystone Woods Disc Golf Club which will be a not-for-profit organization of local folks that want to grow, enhance, and improve disc golf in Morris County, NJ. All membership fees will go towards course improvements and enhancements.
