What do folks think of the new short tees (red tees)?

Played the front 9 Reds yesterday with my kids. They enjoyed them. I especially liked how Hole 3s red tee gets you through the tough gap entering the woods. Hole 4 was great to be able to shoot from a different angle. Hole 5s tee needs some leveling off, but it makes clearing the dangerous weeds a bit easier. Hole 6 Red shoots towards the water, which made things a bit dicier than throwing from the White tee.

I didn't like the tees that were just a few feet up from their red counterpart. I'm not sure if throwing on these holes will make any difference in a players score no matter their ability. I'm thinking specifically of 1 Red, 7 Red, and 8 Red. I didn't get to play 9 so I can't comment on that one. Some of these could just throw from the White tees (less course maintenance), be located further up towards the basket, or from a different angle.

Thank you for installing these tees. My kids had a blast and want to return, which is always good to hear after battling the course. Greystone definitely gives them a workout compared to Harry Dunham.

Excellent feed back.
I've only played them straight thru twice. You are right, some of them don't make enough of a difference. We'll continue to tweek things, and are open to specific suggestion.
Thanks

Hey everybody, first off I just wanted to thank you for such a wonderful course!

My fiance and I recently moved back to NJ and when my brother told us about the Greystone course I was really happy to find disc golf so close to home again. We have been playing 2-3 times a week for about a month now. We're pretty new to the sport (this makes our second summer playing), but you guys really put together a nice course for novices and advanced players alike.

We'd like to contribute to the effort and help out where we can, so I was just wondering if there was something like a rolling list of planned improvements that we could help out with as we frequent the course?

I've noticed that some of the paths have some pretty deep ankle rollers in them (mostly from 3-4 if I remember correctly), so I was planning on maybe bringing a rake and evening them out,- I just wasn't sure how open to unannounced course work you guys were.

Anyway, thanks again regardless! We'll have to meet up with you guys once we're a little better and my nightmares of hole 13 subside I swear, it IS the cursed tee!

Hey Tom, and thanks for the kind words.
Yes, there are tons of course maintenance, and improvement projects on our wish list. Unfortunately most of the work out there is being done by way too small of a core group of nuts, who sacrifice their own playing time just to keep up bare minimum of needed chores. We do schedule work days regularly to tackle the most pressing items (though it is tough to find the time here at the middle of summer). Starting in mid August, we'll be posting (watch or Facebook page) work dates again, and encourage all who can to come out and support their local course with a few man hours. We would like to start an adopt a hole program for those who may not be able to make workdays, but would still like to contribute. With in reason, we're happy to have anyone like yourself take on projects such as rock and branch removal. erosion control, tee pad raking and general rough clean up... as long as no one takes it upon themselves to do any course modifying activity without consent from the designers.
Welcome back to the area. I look forward to meeting up at the course in time.
